September 6th, 2024 - Hello everyone! I am back to share some Digital Downloads from Qobuz. They will be uploaded to the Mediafire Folder under Digital Downloads. Make sure to sort the downloads by date so you get the latest album uploads. Enjoy. I uploaded about 22 albums. Some of them may be duplicates as I found better quality than the old Amazon downloads I uploaded years ago.
Here is my email if you need to contact me: scarysoundofhalloween@gmail.com.
Here are the links to folders. Not sure how long these links will be up. Grab whatever albums are available.

Cool.
Glad to see that you are willing to keep this blog going and keep the links updated. Thanks for all the hard work.
Great news and post to us which ones are lost maybe we have them.
Thanks for sharing these sounds. It so exciting to hear all of them. An outstanding treat for Halloween. environmental noise control
awesome site! blogged about your site today on http://spookysoiree.blogspot.com -keep up the good work!
Are you going to post anything for 2012?
I might try to find a way to reupload a lot of my dead links. But I'm scared if I use mediafire it would shut down my blog. Just need to use weird file names so that it doesn't get flagged down. I will eventually look for new albums at Halloween stores but with so many of them out there its a good chance I might end up buying the same stuff.
If you find new scary sounds , I have some to send in too.
If you have anything new just send it this way, I have slowly been uploading stuff to my mediafire but been kind of scared to post it all at once and since I left most of my Halloween Soundtracks at home I have to look for them on my iPod. So might take a while probably might not be able to post new ones I did get some but I think someone else already posted them.
I've got this one to share with you. It's called "Sounds of Horror". I got it at a dollar store I think. I also included a CD cover I made for this CD. I uploaded it on 4shared... hope the link works.

I forgot to mention that the album I gave the link to in my comment above is not the same "Sounds of Horror" as the one already available on this blog.
Enjoy!
Here is another one !

Thankyou For the Reups and newups Brandon !
So, I guess I'll add my comments to the chorus here. Firstly, thanks for doing this blog, from a fellow sound effects geek and a Halloween sound effects geek at that. However, I'm surprised you don't have the "Night of Terror" CD put out by Gateway back in about 1995 or so. This is one that everybody, especially a company called Columbia River Entertainment Group, borrows from all the time. I think most of the sounds are derived from one of the BBC Death and Horror albums mixed with a few other sources, but it's a pretty good continuous mix with a fairly decent sense of continuity. One thing that bugs me about many Halloween SFX mixes is they tend to take the approach of just throwing a bunch of sounds at you with no context. I'm going to try to find some of the more unique CDs I have and rip them for you, and I'm thinking I'll concentrate on those that are a single track. I'll try to avoid duplicating any mixes already up here, even if they fall under different titles.
Yeah I don't believe I have that album but I am sure a lot of the ones I have, used it. I can't say how many times I have come across an album and it's the same damn album which is why if I am at the record store and they let me listen to it before buying I would definitely listen to it because chances are it might be one I already have.
Hell I could happen to have the CD you are referring to but it might be under a different name or cover cause most of the time people just take it and slap their own name on it. I would very much be grateful if you can share what stuff you have. I am surprised people haven't been sharing stuff that they had through the years.
I have a few broken links from people but I have not seen anyone sharing those albums back to me so I can reup them on 4shared.
Hey! I was looking for a way to potentially submit content but can't find a contact or place to e-mail... Is there a way to submit potential sound packs etc?
Lookin' forward to stuff for 2014!
OK, at long last, here's the Night of Terror CD. Just the MP3, no artwork because I don't have it, but I ripped the MP3 at 320 KBPS just for fun, and this is a Sendspace link. Feel free to upload it to 4Shared and share it from there. https://www.sendspace.com/file/4ddwz2
OK, that was screwy. I just posted and it said Unknown for my name, so it's Chris S that just sent you that file and I might have a few more oldie-moldie favorites.
Thanks for sharing Chris S, I am on a slow Internet at the moment will download your file and upload it to my 4shared account and share it in October.
Since I've used a ton of your audio, I figure I should let you know.
I have a tiny micro-power FM that I use to broadcast my music library around the house and yard. Each October, I switch to an all Halloween format. Mostly vintage spooky and goofy tracks... with classic horror movie sound clips sprinkled in for spice.
This year I've started streaming it so everyone can tune in. It's highly curated and produced... much more fun to listen to than some sterile Spotify or Rdio playlist.

All original compositions, tunes into other Halloween channels as well!
Thanks so much for all of your amazing and incredible work. I love this blog and always will be. ¡I need to know what your favorite Soundtrack! ¡PLEASE! ¡Tell ME! Amazing job, i insist. Thanks again.
looking forward to the new stuff for 2015!
I wish I could figure where to share that my stuff doesn't keep getting pulled down. I have my own Halloween blog, but I got tired of trying to keep my links active. Thanks for your work.
Dave W.
Sorry to hear that Dave. Did you try Mediafire? I know they have this stupid thing where if the audio is recognizable by sites that have digital media like Amazon that it blocks the file from being downloaded. I am currently using MEGA to share but at the same time if MEGA ends up doing a Megaupload then I fear for my uploads being deleted. That's why I have backed up all that I've shared including the lossless albums that I am currently reimporting into my computer on an external hard drive. It's like 30GB big including the stuff that I've found on the Internet and ones that people share on here.
I have a share I'd like to send you to add to the site. Email me at siys at yahoo dot com.
Very excited to see you back this year!! Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for years of sharing!
Just curious what the double asterisk next to your post titles mean. Awesome work... wish I had stumbled on this a few years ago. Been using the same track for years. Needed something new.
Cynthia, the asterisk was to help me determine which albums I had reup to fix dead links. I might end up doing that this year too but I am sure a lot of my readers will probably just download the new stuff instead of the old stuff.
Just wanted to thnak you for keeping this site up.
It's been my go-to every October.
Hello Brandon! Welcome To Halloween Season 2016. Love Love Love This Blog. Number One Halloween Blog On The Internet. Happy Halloween from Stevo In Yr Stereo of Nightmare City Halloween!!!
Thank you very much for your contributions ! love that blog ;)
Is the well truly running dry on scary soundscapes?!
I sure hope not.
Brandon, Great to have you back for Halloween season 2017!!! Thank you for your hard work. Have a Great Halloween, Stevo In Yr Stereo of Nightmare City Halloween
I have been looking for one album for years and you helped me find it. My dad used to make the scariest haunted houses at the elementary school he worked at. And I would help him set them up. It was amazing. And this music always had a nostalgic place in my heart. It was the chamber of horrors 1990 and 1998. I love it so much now I’m going to have the best Halloween ever this year!
Hi Brandon. Happy Halloween Season 2018!!! Personally, I don't mind repeated audio, when the cover art is new. Yes, I am a crazy collector and I love every version! Cheers from Stevo In Yr Stereo of Nightmare City Halloween!
Hey Stevo, I can understand you like the repeats but I feel like this Halloween might be a very empty one especially when I can't find new material to post this year. I am not really a fan of the older stuff cause they're on media like vinyl and cassette that I don't possess a player for to record into digital format.
You don't typically find older Halloween albums in a Goodwill because they usually just stock CDs and some vinyl. I've yet to actually find a vinyl of a scary sounds album in good condition. Hell even the local record store doesn't have a good selection of CDs. I don't like shopping eBay either cause of shady sellers ripping people off.
Please dont ever close this site. I might even donate. It's one of the best halloween sites ever! and one of my go to. I'll always come here first to get my halloween sound fixs for months till thanksgiving.
When given the chance I'm going to backup every last album.
Thank you very much for creating this and dont ever think of letting it die!
WOW, great Site.
Respect.
One Question: Whats your favorite Halloween CD???
Many Thanks and greetings from Germany;-)
Oli, thank you. My favorite Halloween CD is probably Scary Sounds of Halloween from K-Tel or A Night In A Haunted House / A Night In A Graveyard.
Thanks, Brandon for the years of sounds!
and to PawPatrolFan92 for sharing things this year.

Thanks, Brandon for the years of sounds!
Thanks Brandon for all that you share. I appreciate everything you post and know I should say it more often.
Happy Halloween!!!!
Thanks a lot, Brandon!
I'll certainly let you know if I bump into anything new, but I'm not getting out too much myself. Now that I think about it, I've also not seen advertisements for any Halloween-specific stores that sometimes pop up in empty retail locations around October. I've bumped into a few good CDs and Cassette Tapes at those places over the years.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for 2021!!!
looking forward to the new(ish) stuff!
It's always something, isn't it?
Sorry about the links.
Hope you find another service you can rely on.
Won't be the same without Scary Sounds around.
Thanks for letting me get reacquainted with some
of my childhood.
later,
Thank you for all of the hard work behind making these classics available.
adam
Oh my. Sad to see that this blog is being shut down. I quite enjoyed reading the stories about the different tapes/CDs, and I found the audio of one of the tapes I had as a kid here. Well technically two of them, but I got one from Amazon a few years before finding this. You obviously put a lot of work into this every year, and I can't imagine shutting it down was an easy choice to make.
I hope it can be brought back someday. If you do ever decide to pikc it back up, what I'd suggest is only uploading the ones that can't be bought anywhere, and providing links to purchase the ones available on Amazon. You could even use referral links in that case, probably won't have to worry about Mediafire taking down your links, and it'd really just be the right thing to do to avoid piracy.
Thanks for keeping it going for so long in any case. I wish I'd have found it sooner.
Missing this site this year
And again. I would blurt an Expletive Out at this point, but I see no reason to do so. We all know.
Thanks so much for what once was.
I would love to share the mix I created. It’s been a while but I may have used some of the content you shared, I honestly don’t remember. It’s a 40 minute Haunted House track that we use during Trick or Treating. Best wishes! https://on.soundcloud.com/fkEaKREcDye3c57Z7
You should open it up from the archives (restore the posts). The information you shared was valuable. The dead links can stay that way.
Great to hear from you Brandon! Grabbed all the new MediaFire uploads. Thank you so very much! Happy Halloween from Stevo In Yr Stereo of Nightmare City Halloween
Thanks much for all the new DLs!
I cannot thank you enough for the Hallmark 1986 Scary Sounds CD! I lost the tape many many years ago and I had originally purchased it at the Hallmark store in the mall in 1986 as a ten year old and listened to it for sooooooooooo many years. The CD is slightly different from the tape but has enough of the best creepy sounds and silly voices that I missed so much (aren't you a little big to be trick-or-treating?" lol). THANK YOOOOOOOOOU - if you're like me with my blog you will never see this comment but I wanted to post it anyway, I am so so so grateful I can't even tell you.
Damn!!!!
Brandon, you knocked it out of the park..errr...graveyard!
Eternal thanks.
Thanks for the fine public service! Would you mind linking to my music blog? I post year round, but every tenth month of the year is SPOOKY SPOCK-TOBER, with stuff like your collection, as well as original Halloween compilation! Here's the link: http://spocksrecordround-up.blogspot.com/
